Server Rules

Build freely. Respect the world.

These rules keep Meridian SMP playable, welcoming, and fair for everyone. They are firm where the server needs protection and simple where common sense is enough.

Short Version

Do not ruin someone else's time.

Ask before changing shared spaces, keep big builds considerate, and use Discord support channels instead of pressuring staff in direct messages.

Play fair

General Conduct

  • No griefing, stealing, or exploiting.
  • Do not break, modify, or interfere with another player's build.
  • Do not abuse claims or use claims to trap, block, or annoy other players.
  • PvP only happens when everyone involved agrees first.
  • No discrimination, hate speech, harassment, or targeted hostility.

Shared systems

Public Areas

  • Do not mess with shared systems such as farms, transport, spawn paths, or public machines.
  • Ask before making major changes to spawn, shopping, roads, docks, or other shared areas.
  • No automated farms in the shopping district.
  • No lawn bases near spawn.
  • Leave public spaces readable, accessible, and useful for the next player.

Performance matters

Lag and Machines

  • No lag machines or intentional server strain.
  • Keep farms, contraptions, and storage systems reasonable.
  • If staff asks you to reduce, move, or redesign a build for performance, work with them.
  • Turn off machines that do not need to run constantly.

Sky projects

Airships

  • Maximum 3 airships per player.
  • Avoid oversized or lag-heavy airships.
  • Do not park ships where they block shared routes, builds, spawn areas, or shops.
  • Airship limits may change if server performance needs it.

Community

Discord and Support

  • Do not spam or abuse @everyone.
  • Use the proper Discord channels for questions, bug reports, and staff help.
  • Do not repeatedly DM staff for support.
  • Keep arguments out of public channels and ask staff for help when needed.

When unsure

Ask First

  • If a build might affect another player, ask before changing it.
  • If a machine might affect performance, ask before scaling it up.
  • If a public area already has a plan, coordinate before adding to it.
  • Good communication prevents most rule problems before they start.

Need clarification?

Ask in the Discord before guessing.

Rules questions, access questions, and staff support should go through the public Discord channels.
